Dreams are what give us all motivation to keep going even when we aren’t able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
If you were to give up on a dream, then you are telling yourself that it is OK to live a mediocre life. And therefore will be harder to achieve other dreams because you have already conditioned yourself to give up.
Sure, your priorities may change and your dreams may change as well. But there is always an underlying theme to your dreams and how you want to live your life in this world.
So if you start giving up on your dreams and say you “can’t” do them or that they are too “hard”, then you have already committed yourself to never achieving them. Why do something that can not be done or is too hard for your abilities? Your mind will not let you achieve your dreams if this is what you say and/or think about them.
As children, we think anything is possible and have wild dreams. But somewhere along the line, we learned that we can’t have everything; or someone told us that we can’t have certain things or do certain things because we’re not good enough. Guess what….this is why you don’t have those very things or aren’t doing those very things right now!

If I don’t do my best right now, when will it happen?
Will I procrastinate on achieving my own success?
How do I know what my best is if I don’t do all that is necessary to achieve greatness at every moment?
If I am not my best at this very moment, did I just lower my own standards for myself in the future?
How do I improve if I do not do my best and push myself at all times?
Why would I settle for mediocrity when I know I can do better?
Why am I holding myself back from my own success?
Ask yourself these questions. What is your answer?

“Do today what can be done today…for tomorrow will never come.”
How profound that statement can be for all of us. Too many times, I look at my list of tasks that I have to do and I think, “I can do that one later”. But guess what….that time never comes!
If I am not diligent in doing things RIGHT AWAY, then too many tasks get put on the back-burner. And believe me…I have a task list that overflows each and every day! And when too many things are on the back-burner, then that’s when we all get overwhelmed.
Overwhelmed feelings cause us all to procrastinate. I am just as guilty as anyone else when it comes to procrastination. Certain things I have a tendency to procrastinate in more than others. And it’s those things that I work on the hardest to complete.
So how do we get rid of these overwhelmed feelings so that we don’t procrastinate? We really can’t, so we must learn to manage these feelings so they don’t take over our lives.
One way to manage these overwhelmed feelings is to take action on items right away when you have them. Don’t wait until a perfect time reveals itself; because that time will never happen.
